Octoboard alternative for agencies that want the reporting done, not another platform

An Octoboard alternative only makes sense if your problem is not the software: if you want a cheap, wide all-in-one reporting platform that your team runs, Octoboard is a strong pick. If you want a team to run, check and write up your client reporting so your marketers can stop doing it, a managed service like reportfor.agency is the better fit.

Two different answers to "we need better client reports"

Octoboard answers with a platform. It gives your agency many tools in one place: automated reports, dashboards, a white-label client portal, SEO audits, a keyword rank tracker, ChatGPT insights and more. Your team uses those tools.

reportfor.agency answers with a team. Your team does the marketing. We do the client reporting. Data engineers and marketing analysts build and run the reporting. Code calculates every number. AI drafts the words, never the numbers. An analyst checks every report. Your account manager approves and sends.

Both are valid. They solve different problems. This page helps you see which problem you have.

What Octoboard packs in

Octoboard's strength is breadth. On its agency page, Octoboard lists (Octoboard for agencies, checked 6 Oct 2026):

Reporting

70+ integrations across analytics, paid ads, email, social and brand monitoring, and 350+ ready report templates.

Client-facing tools

A white-label client portal, white-label reports and dashboards, and staff and client invitations.

SEO and extras

A keyword rank tracker in all plans, SEO audits, ChatGPT data insights, Google Sheets and BigQuery export, and B2B lead generation tools.

For an agency that sells SEO, PPC and social, this is a lot of tooling for one subscription. If your team wants to do the reporting work itself and needs one place to do it, Octoboard covers a wide surface.

How Octoboard prices

Octoboard prices its agency product by the number of clients you connect, with usage limits on some features. As listed on its pricing page on 20 Oct 2026 (pricing page, checked 20 Oct 2026):

The pricing page we could read showed only the 5-client tier. G2's pricing listing for Octoboard for Agencies (last updated 9 Apr 2026) shows larger tiers: Freelancer $25 for 5 clients, Team $50 for 10 clients, Agency $100 for 20 clients and Enterprise $150 for 30 clients (G2 pricing listing, checked 6 Oct 2026). Octoboard's own page shows euros. Confirm the current tiers and currency with Octoboard before you decide.

Either way, the model is clear: about €5 or $5 per client per month for software. That is very low. It is possible because you supply the labor.

Breadth or depth: the real trade-off

Octoboard gives you many features at a low price. reportfor.agency gives you fewer features, but does the work behind them.

Think about one client's weekly report. With a platform, your account manager opens the dashboard, checks that the data is complete, looks for what changed, decides why, and writes it up. The platform's AI insights can help with the "what changed" part. The judgment and the final words still come from your team.

With us, that work arrives on Monday as a draft written report. The numbers come from code. The words are drafted by AI and checked by an analyst. Your account manager reads it, edits if needed and sends it. We expect that review to take under 1 hour per client per month. That is a goal, not a guarantee.

So ask: does your agency need more tools, or fewer tasks?

Four questions to decide

  1. Who writes the client update today? If a specialist does it well and on time, keep a platform. If account managers squeeze it in late, a service helps.
  2. Do you use the SEO tools? If you rely on Octoboard's rank tracker and SEO audits, that is value we do not replace. Keep that in mind.
  3. How many clients do you have? Under 5, we are not a fit except for a 1-client pilot. At 5 or more, the per-client model works.
  4. What does a wrong number cost you? If a client catching an error hurts trust, our checks and guarantee matter more than feature count.

Cost example: 5 clients

Five clients is our minimum, so it is the most direct comparison.

Octoboard, 5 clients

€25 /month

Yearly billing saves 30%, as listed 20 Oct 2026 (pricing page). Your team still sets up reports, checks data, writes updates and sends them. Add the cost of that time.

reportfor.agency, 5 clients

$495 /month

$99 per client per month, plus a $997 one-time setup per agency. Each client includes up to 4 ad platforms, with GA4 and Search Console at no extra cost.

Octoboard costs far less as software. The difference pays for people: a team that builds, runs and checks your reporting. A data engineer plus an analyst cost about $190,000 per year in US base pay (US Bureau of Labor Statistics medians, May 2024: data scientists, market research analysts). If you would never hire that team, compare our price with the hours your own staff spend on reports today. See all pricing details.

When Octoboard is the better choice

When a managed service is the better choice

Choose a managed service when the tools are not the bottleneck. You may already have good software. The gap is that nobody owns the reporting.

Using Octoboard and reportfor.agency together

This is a real option. You can keep Octoboard for SEO audits, rank tracking or lead forms, and hand the client reporting to us. Our dashboards and reports read from data in your own cloud account, usually a BigQuery project, so the two do not compete for the same data store.

To test it, start a pilot: 1 client, $199 setup plus $99 for the first month. The $199 is credited to the setup fee if you continue. Your first report arrives within 7 days of read-only access, or you get the setup fee back.

Questions about Octoboard alternatives

Is reportfor.agency cheaper than Octoboard?

No. Octoboard lists €25 per month for 5 clients (pricing page, checked 20 Oct 2026). We charge $99 per client per month plus $997 setup. You pay us for a team that does the reporting work, not only for software.

Do you replace Octoboard's SEO audits and rank tracker?

No. We do not offer SEO audits or rank tracking. We report on Search Console data.

Octoboard has ChatGPT insights. How is your written report different?

In our process, code calculates every number and AI drafts the words. Then an analyst checks every report, and your account manager approves and sends it. The report includes reasons, next actions and a ready-to-send client email.

Which data sources do you support?

GA4, Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Search Console and CRM. Each client covers up to 4 ad platforms. GA4 and Search Console cost nothing extra. A CRM counts as 1 of the 4.

How long does it take to go live?

14 days for up to 20 clients. Day 1–2 connect, day 3–7 first report, day 8–12 brand and tune, day 14 go live.

Can I see your analysis before a call?

Yes. Paste one campaign CSV export into the free demo. It shows changes, risks and next actions. It runs in your browser, and your data is not uploaded.
