To outsource client reporting, you hand the data work (connecting sources, checking numbers, building dashboards and writing the first draft) to a specialist team, and you keep the client relationship and approve every report before it is sent. With reportfor.agency, our data engineers and marketing analysts do that work for $99 per client per month, and your account managers only review and send. This page shows what to hand over, what to keep, and the questions to ask any provider before you sign.

What is reporting as a service?

Reporting as a service means a provider runs your client reporting for a monthly fee. It connects the data, checks the numbers, builds the dashboards and drafts the reports. reportfor.agency works this way: $99 per client per month, and your team reviews and sends.

What is a marketing reporting service?

A marketing reporting service is a team that produces the regular reports for an agency's clients. Ours covers GA4, Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Search Console and your CRM, with a weekly report every Monday and a monthly review PDF. We never contact your clients.

Should an agency outsource client reporting?

Outsource it when reporting takes hours that should go to client work, or when wrong numbers have reached a client. Keep the client relationship and approve every report yourself. Our model: code calculates, AI drafts, an analyst checks, you approve.

How do client reporting services work?

You give the provider read-only access to the client accounts. The provider connects the data, checks it, builds the dashboards and writes the reports. With us, your first report arrives within 7 days of access, or you get your setup fee back, and you are live in 14 days for up to 20 clients. For the full process, in-house or outsourced, read our client reporting guide for agencies.

Signs it is time to outsource your reporting

Most agencies do not decide to outsource reporting on a quiet day. They decide after a bad week. These are the common signs:

If two or more of these are true, outsourcing the reporting work usually costs less than the problems it causes. Reporting is also where agencies now want help: 42% of agencies say reporting and performance summaries are where AI gives them the most value (AgencyAnalytics 2026 Agency Benchmarks, 494 agencies). Tools help, but someone must still own the numbers.

What to hand over and what to keep

Outsourcing does not mean your client stops hearing from you. The data work moves to the provider. The relationship, the strategy and the final word stay with your team.

The three ways to handle reporting, and what each costs

When you outsource client reporting, compare it with the real cost of the other two options, not with zero.

Your marketers do it

No new cost on paper. The cost hides in salaries: hours every month per client, late reports in busy weeks, and nobody checking the numbers until the client asks.

Hire a data team

A data engineer and an analyst cost about $190,000 a year in US base pay (BLS, BLS, May 2024 medians). Then add hiring, management, holiday cover and the risk that they leave.

Outsource to a managed team

With us, $99 per client per month plus a $997 one-time setup. For 20 clients that is $1,980 a month, with a full team, daily checks and cover included.

How to choose a client reporting provider: 8 questions to ask

Many "outsourced reporting" offers are a freelancer with a template, or software with a support desk. Ask these questions before you give anyone access to your clients' data. Our answers are in the last column so you can compare.

Question to askWhy it mattersreportfor.agency
1. Where does the data live?If the data and dashboards live in the provider's account, you lose them when you leave. In your own Google Sheet or BigQuery project. We set it up if you have none
2. What access do you need?Edit access to ad accounts is a risk you do not need to take.Read-only. We cannot change campaigns, budgets or settings
3. Who checks that the numbers are right? One wrong number makes a client doubt all your work. Our team checks every dashboard every day and compares totals with the platforms
4. Who writes the commentary?A generic summary does not explain why results changed.AI drafts it from checked numbers. An analyst checks every report before you see it
5. Is it white label?Your clients hired you, not a vendor.Yes. Your logo, colors and tone. Our name is not visible to clients
6. What happens when someone is away?A single freelancer cannot cover holidays or check their own work.A team runs your account, and every setup is documented
7. What do you promise in writing?Promises without a penalty are only marketing.First report within 7 days of access or setup fee back. If your client finds a wrong number before we flag it, that client's month is free (wrong = does not match the source platform for a finished day; provisional days do not count)
8. How do we leave?Lock-in is the hidden cost of outsourcing.30 days' notice, no minimum term after setup. You keep the data, dashboards and documentation

How the handover works

  1. Day 1–2: Connect. You give read-only access. Our engineers connect the data sources for every client.
  2. Day 3–7: First report. We deliver your first full client report, checked by an analyst, for your review. If it is not with you within 7 days of access, you get your setup fee back.
  3. Day 8–12: Brand and tune. Your logo, your KPIs and your tone of voice on every client. Slack alerts are set up.
  4. Day 14: Go live. Dashboards are live for every client. Weekly reports arrive every Monday and monthly reviews on a fixed date.

After go-live, your team spends under 1 hour per client each month, only to read the reports, edit anything they want and send them. We sign your NDA and a data processing agreement before we get any access. Live dashboards update and are checked every day. You approve every report before it goes to your client. Questions about outsourcing client reporting

What does it mean to outsource client reporting?

You hand the data work to a specialist team: connecting the data sources, keeping dashboards correct, finding what changed and writing the first draft of each report. Your agency keeps the client relationship, the strategy and the final approval before anything is sent.

How much does it cost to outsource client reporting?

With reportfor.agency, $99 per client per month plus a one-time $997 setup per agency, with a minimum of 5 clients. You can start with a pilot on one client for $199 setup plus $99 for the first month. The $199 is credited to your setup fee if you continue.

Will my clients know we outsource reporting?

No. Dashboards use your logo and colors and live in your own Google account. Your account managers send the weekly reports and monthly reviews. Our name does not appear anywhere your client can see.

Is it safe to give a provider access to client accounts?

Ask for read-only access only. We read your ad and analytics accounts and cannot change campaigns, budgets or settings. We sign your NDA and a data processing agreement before we get any access, and the data stays in your own Google account.

How much time will my team still spend on reporting?

Under 1 hour per client each month, only to read the reports, edit anything they want and send them.

Does AI write the outsourced reports?

AI drafts the words. It never calculates a number. Code calculates every number and checks it against the ad platforms. An analyst checks each draft, and your account manager approves it before your client sees it.

What happens if we stop outsourcing?

You can cancel at any time with 30 days' notice. There is no minimum term after setup. You keep the data, the dashboards and the documentation in your accounts, and we help you move the data connector subscription if you take it over.

What if my client finds a wrong number?

If your client finds a wrong number before we flag it, that client's month is free. Wrong means the number does not match the source platform for a finished day. Provisional days do not count. Code calculates every number, and an analyst checks every report before you send it.
