Databox alternative for agencies that want the reporting done, not another platform
A good Databox alternative for agencies depends on one thing: do you want a KPI platform your team runs, or a team that runs client reporting for you? Pick Databox if you want a flexible analytics platform with an AI analyst for many kinds of business data; pick a managed service like reportfor.agency if you want each client's dashboard, weekly report and monthly review built, checked and drafted for you.
Databox is built for every business. That is its strength.
Databox is a KPI dashboard and analytics platform. Many kinds of companies use it: in-house teams, solo analysts and agencies. Its pricing page lists plans from a Free plan to Analyst, Team Core, Team Scale and Custom, plus a separate Agency plan (Databox pricing page, checked 20 Oct 2026). It now centers on an AI analyst called Genie, which explains metric changes and suggests next steps (Databox for agencies).
Because Databox is general, it can track almost any number: sales, finance, product, marketing. An agency can use it for its own business metrics and for clients at the same time.
reportfor.agency is narrow on purpose. We only do client reporting for marketing agencies. Your team does the marketing. We do the client reporting. A team of data engineers and marketing analysts builds and runs it. Your marketing team does not build reports.
What the Databox Agency plan includes
As listed on the Databox pricing page (checked 20 Oct 2026):
- Agency plan: "Starting at $79", billed annually, "plus client packs as you grow". It includes unlimited users, 20 data sources in the base, bulk actions, custom templates, cross-client reporting via Genie and an MCP server, and the Solutions Partner program.
- Client packs: $20 per month each. One pack = 1 client, 5 data sources and 50 AI credits per month.
- White label: shown as an add-on at $80 per month.
- Annual discount: 20% on paid plans.
Note: on 20 Oct 2026 the FAQ on the same page gave other numbers (Agency plan from $99 per month, client packs $25 per month). Ask Databox for a quote before you decide.
Databox also lists billable setup and training services, where its consultants configure metrics, goals and business context (Databox for agencies). That helps you start. After setup, your team runs the platform.

When Databox is the better choice
- You want one platform for everything. If you also want to track your agency's own sales, finance or ops numbers, Databox covers that. We do not.
- Your team likes to explore data. Databox gives people an AI analyst to ask questions. That suits teams who want to dig in themselves.
- You want to start free. Databox has a Free plan with 1 user and 3 data sources.
- Your clients want to log in and play with metrics. A self-serve platform with an AI analyst can fit hands-on clients.
- Your per-client budget is very small. A $20 client pack costs less than our $99 per client.
When a managed service is the better choice
An AI analyst answers questions. But someone still has to ask the right ones, check the answer and turn it into a note your client trusts. Our home page puts it this way: a tool shows the data, but someone on your team still has to keep it correct, find the story and write the update. We take over that work.
No one owns data quality
We check every day that data is fresh and complete, and compare totals with the source platforms on a fixed schedule. If your client finds a wrong number before we flag it, that client's month is free.
Updates slip when the team is busy
Every Monday you get a written report per client: key results, reasons, next actions and a client email ready to send. Your team reviews it. Time is under 1 hour per client per month.
You do not want to hire
A data engineer plus an analyst cost about $190,000 per year in US base pay (US Bureau of Labor Statistics medians, May 2024: data scientists, market research analysts). We give you a data team for client reporting, without the hire.

Cost example: 15 clients
Using the Databox Agency plan as listed on 20 Oct 2026 (pricing page):
Databox Agency
$379 /month$79 base + 15 client packs × $20 ($300), billed annually. Add $80/month for white label: $459/month. Your team still sets up each client, checks numbers, writes updates and sends them.
reportfor.agency
$1,485 /month15 clients × $99, plus $997 one-time setup per agency. White label, weekly reports, monthly review PDF, Slack alerts and data checks are included. Your team reviews and sends.
Databox is the lower software bill. Our price includes the people. To compare fairly, add the hours your team spends each month on Databox setup, checks and client writing, at your own cost per hour. See our pricing.
Using Databox and reportfor.agency together
This can work well. Keep Databox for your agency's own KPIs, such as sales pipeline or team targets. Let us run the client-facing reporting. Our data sits in your own cloud account, usually a BigQuery project, so your team can still use it in other tools if they want.
If you switch client reporting from Databox to us, the steps are simple:
- Give read-only access. We cannot change campaigns, budgets or settings. NDA and DPA are signed first.
- Get a first report within 7 days. If not, the setup fee comes back.
- Brand and tune by day 12. Your logo, colors and each client's goals.
- Go live on day 14. Up to 20 clients in 14 days.
Not sure yet? Start with a pilot: 1 client, $199 setup and $99 for the first month. The $199 is credited to the setup fee if you continue.
Questions about Databox alternatives
Is reportfor.agency software like Databox?
No. We are a managed service. We use connectors such as Supermetrics, Windsor.ai and Coupler.io to move data into BigQuery, then build and run the dashboards and reports for you.
Does your AI write the numbers?
No. Code calculates every number. AI only drafts the words, and it sees campaign totals only, no personal data. It is not used to train AI. An analyst checks every report.
Can my clients log in to a dashboard?
Yes. Each client gets a live white-label dashboard with your logo and colors, updated and checked every day.
Do you contact my clients?
Never. Your account manager approves and sends every report.
What if I only have 3 clients?
Our minimum is 5 clients ($495/month). With fewer clients, a self-serve tool like Databox may suit you better. You can still try one client in a pilot.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time with 30 days' notice and no minimum term after setup. You keep the data, dashboards and documentation.
